Indian Kashan Runner. 2'6''x9'9''

A new hand-woven runner made in India in the style of a Persian Kashan. Rather than utilizing a single central medallion, this variation features an allover field layout composed of repeating Shah Abbas palmettes, cloud bands, scrolling floral vines (islimi), and lotus blossoms symmetrically distributed throughout the primary field. A deep, rich crimson red serves as the primary background color for the central field. The intricate patterns are woven using a mix of ivory, cream, sage green, beige, olive, and subtle hints of navy blue. Running along both sides of the red field are multi-layered borders. The main guard border has an ivory background decorated with repeating, smaller geometric floral medallions and abstract leaf shapes in red and dark tones.
