A delightful triumph! The field of this hand-knotted rug is heavily populated with highly stylized, geometric peacock or bird motifs stacked vertically. In Middle Eastern tribal weaving, these animal symbols often represent beauty, prosperity, or protection. Distinct vertical rectangular panels arranged in a column-like layout. The central strip is red, flanked by two deep navy panels, and closed in by outer red borders. Interspersed between the birds are smaller geometric rosettes and tribal charms, the entire field framed by a narrow, multi-layered geometric border adorned with continuous repeating diamond and cross-shaped symbols.
