Description
A very finely hand-knotted Chinese runner in the style of an intricate Persian Kashan, feautring a a bold black field in the center, balanced by cream (ivory) and deep red/burgundy accents in the borders. The center field is filled with an intricate allover floral scroll and vine system (known as an islimi or arabesque design). It contains symmetrical, repeating palmette and rosette floral shapes winding vertically down the runner. It features a prominent cream-colored main border decorated with a repeating red floral vine pattern, flanked by narrow black guard borders to frame the piece elegantly.
