A new hand-woven rug from Afghanistan in the tribal style of a Turkoman or Uzbek Suzani. A prominent, diamond-shaped cream and gold medallion sits at the center, extending into large, stylized horn-like curls at the corners. Inside the central medallion is a striking red and gold eight-pointed star with extended geometric arms. Four large, circular floral pinwheel motifs occupy the corners of the main field, alternating in patterns of red, gold, and cream. Small, identical tribal diamond emblems are centered along the top, bottom, left, and right edges of the dark border. Colors are deep charcoal-earth with vibrant crimson red, warm gold, creamy ivory, and soft sage green accents.
