A rich, deep indigo runner, with accents of crimson red, cream, ivory, terracotta, and soft blues and greens. Hand-woven in Afghanistan, in the style of a Tribal Karadje. The center contains a vertical row of four large, repeating hexagonal medallions (also known as guls). These medallions alternate in color—some feature a red background, while others have a cream background. Inside each medallion are intricate, symmetrical geometric motifs, including diamond shapes and stylized hooks. Small, scattered tribal motifs (resembling boteh or paisley shapes) flank the medallions within the black field. A narrow guard stripe featuring a repeating geometric wave or crenellated pattern. A wide, ornate frame with a cream and red background, decorated with a continuous chain of stylized geometric flowers and birds. A final thin, red-based border with small geometric steps that frames the entire piece.
