A new hand-woven rug from Afghanistan in the style of a Caucasian Tribal Karadje. The centerpiece is a large, sharp-edged geometric star or diamond medallion rendered in light blue, ivory, and deep navy blue. Above and below the central medallion are two smaller, dark navy blue geometric anchors or secondary medallions. The main red field is scattered with small, stylized tribal motifs, geometric shapes, and floral abstractions. A multi-layered border frames the rug. The wide main border features a repeating pattern of geometric turtle elements and floral shapes in shades of blue, red, and gold, flanked by narrower decorative guard bands.
