A large Indian hand-knotted rug in the style of a Malayer of north-western Persia, featuring a rich, deep red primary background. Measurements are 1'9 '' x 13'11 '', very fairly priced at $5696. Rug Number is L34109.
The rug is densely covered with a repeating geometric floral motif. Interspersed small, floral medallions in contrasting hues of cream, soft turquoise, indigo, and forest green accent the center field. Framed by a wide, prominent navy blue and deep indigo primary border containing stylized repeating palmettes, guarded by thinner cream and patterned secondary borders. Finished with an elegant, clean white short cotton fringe on the short ends.
