Rather than relying on a dominant central medallion, this style features an allover lattice of scrolling vines, palmettes, and rosettes distributed evenly across the central field. The botanical elements are drawn with an open, spacious, and slightly oversized scale compared to highly compact town rugs. Originating from the late 19th-century Ziegler and Co. commissions in the Sultanabad region, these rugs were specifically modified for Western markets, introducing softer, muted background colors like slate blue, ivory, and cream rather than deep crimsons. It features a prominent ivory/cream primary border layered with continuous floral cartouches, which perfectly frames the dark steel blue center.
