Description
An antique s highly characteristic of Northwest Persian or Kurdish nomadic village weaving from the late 19th or early 20th century. The main field features a dense Mahi (fish) or Herati style repeating pattern on an ivory-cream background. It relies heavily on small, repeating geometric motifs woven in contrasting rust-red and navy blue. The field is framed by a wide, deep cobalt/navy blue main border featuring a classic stylized floral medallion design. The large central blossom is flanked by angular golden-yellow leaves and light blue serrated palmettes or oak-leaf motifs. The navy border is encased by thin rust-red guard bands showcasing a continuous, alternating minor rosette pattern.
